Now playing: Fisher's Hornpipe
Bluegrass by Chamber music. A Kansas City sound from a family band, kids ages 9 to 20. Blessed by opportunities to play for many, we've nurtured and shared talents given. We've travelled the Midwest, the South, the Phoenix area.
Last summer, the big event was Live at Liberty: A Bluegrass Benefit for Kansas City Kids in July. Our win at the New Musicians Showcase Competition at the Liberty Performing Arts Theatre gave us this gift of a theatre to benefit 3 area organizations: Alexandra's House, Children's Mercy, Marian Hope Center at the Liberty Performing Arts Center.
This summer? We just won 1st place in acoustic band competition at the Homestead National Monument Competition in Beatrice, Neb. Gabriel took 3rd place in the senior division and John won the full-size violin given away by Nancy Blanchard Rohn of Corvallis, Ore.
Check out our 3rd CD: Black&white: redhotbluegrass, a mix of traditional, Celtic, classic vocals and a touch of "newgrass," (bluegrass with an attitude), for a sound that's matured as the kids' talent has.
