Down the Road

The 4th CD is now available, with Sophie, John and Dominic. Dominic is the main instrumentalist, with Sophie pulling in a close second. John plays violin and bass. Songs include old bluegrass favs, such as Emily's Reel, Orange Blossom Special and Amazing Grace, plus some surpises. Beach Boys? Check it out! The harmonies are great. And we couldn't have done it without a little help from our friends--thanks to the Frank family and the Lemon family for performing with us on two songs. And thanks to Terry Brock of Music Coop Studios and Phil Sadler for recording a few for us as well.

Chamber music's 3rd CD is still a great seller, after 3 years. Look for classic bluegrass tunes, like Coat of Many Colors, Celtic and some newgrass, the "blue" with attitude. Songs include Orange Blossom Special, a regular at our performances and a favorite, Simple Gifts, Jerusalem's Ridge, Jump, The Hand Song, Black & White Rag, Milk Cow Blues and more. The CD closes with how we hope our kids focus their lives, Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring.

Caution: Talent in Use

The second CD shows progression in vocals and musicality. It's the grandparents' favorite (they haven't heard the new one yet!) Favorites on this CD include Millionaire's Hoedown, In the Highways, In the Jailhouse Now.

Talent on Loan

The first CD, began in 2002 when Sophie was still 4. She's singing in her best little girl voice with little guy Dominic, 7,  at a live performance for the St. Joseph Historical Society. Brothers Luke, 12, and Gabriel, 11, shoulder most of the instrumentation.

Cute factor comes into play here.

This project came about at Missouri Western State College (now University) in St. Joseph, Mo. I saw a sign on one of music profs door: wanted, group to record CD. Something I just couldn't pass up. It was a senior project!

Songs include Cabbage, She'll be Coming around the Mountain, Irish Washerwoman and Orange Blossom Special and more.
